Friends. You’ll never know where you’ll find them.
For a select group of Dead Milkmen fans, it was the band's message board. Over a period of ten years, fans like Sean (Mang The Goat), Jason (kksuck2), Ben (The Tarantula) and Tony (Big Time Operator) communicated with other fans around the world, sharing their passion for the Dead Milkmen. None of the message board members thought they’d have the opportunity to meet in person...until the Dead Milkmen announced that they were reuniting to pay tribute to one of their fallen band mates.
What followed was a series of hilarious and comical adventures involving many members of the message board as they met for the first time. With a foreword by Dan “Dandrew” Stevens (bassist for the Dead Milkmen), City of Mud is the 100% true story of a group of people, a group who not only became acquainted but also became lifelong friends, thanks to a band’s message board -- and an opportunistic adventure around the City of Brotherly Love.

I downloaded this book because I love stories about Philadelphia. The other reviewer of this book was unfairly harsh in her appraisal. It is unfortunate that she did not stick with the story. The book starts out a little slow with perhaps too much background information on the author's childhood experiences, but once the story gets going, it is a wonderful ride to the end. It is a refreshingly modern account of how the internet has changed how people connect in today's world. Several people from all over the world unite in Philadelphia for the reunion of a long, almost forgotten punk rock band. Their romp through the city is a hilarious series of misadventures that the author describes in a delightfully humorous manner. I hope this first-time author is not discouraged by one negative review. He probably has a lot more delightful stories to tell.Product details

City of Mud edition by Tony Vincenti Dennis Hicks Ed Carmack Dan Stevens Arts Photography eBooks Reviews
The author's first tome is good one. I enjoyed the journey. Hope to see more books from Mr. Vincenti in the future.
This book seems to have no point. The author leaves much to be desired in the "wow factor". It is a story of his rather lack luster career. Unless you are very familiar with the musicians he talks about in his book, this is very boring. The writing is flat and merely factual. He drops lots of names of musicians but I did not recogize any of them so I finally just gave up and left the book unfinished. I hate doing that but could not endure another chapter.
